Title: Senior Business Analyst
Reports to: Senior Director, Delivery
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The Role
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will work with business and technology stakeholders to define requirements, analyze processes, and support the implementation of enterprise IT solutions. You will play a key role in translating business needs into functional and technical specifications while helping deliver digital transformation initiatives.
This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including business leaders, IT teams, vendors, and senior management. You will also contribute to initiatives involving cloud platforms, enterprise systems, data analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.
Senior Business Analysts may also help mentor junior analysts and support the development of business analysis best practices across the organization.
Role Assignments
You may support strategic initiatives across several areas including:
Enterprise Systems
• Implementing modern enterprise platforms and digital transformation initiatives
• Supporting cloud migrations and system integrations
• Improving operational workflows through automation and digital tools
Investment / Financial Systems
• Supporting public and private investment management platforms
• Enhancing reporting, analytics, and performance monitoring tools
Corporate Systems
• Implementing or enhancing systems supporting Finance, Legal, HR, and Communications
• Supporting enterprise risk management, data governance, and reporting initiatives
Key Responsibilities
• Engage with business stakeholders and IT teams to gather and document requirements including objectives, scope, and functionality
• Facilitate requirement workshops and stakeholder discussions
• Develop and maintain documentation including:
o Business requirements
o Functional specifications
o Use cases and user stories
o Process flows and data mapping
• Conduct current-state and future-state analysis to identify improvement opportunities
• Translate business needs into technology-enabled solutions
• Evaluate solution options and present recommendations with benefits and trade-offs
• Create visual artifacts such as process maps, workflow diagrams, and system models
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership
• Analyze and improve existing processes through technology and automation
• Participate in testing activities including:
o Test strategy definition
o Test case creation
o Test execution and validation
• Perform data analysis activities including data profiling, validation, and gap analysis
• Work with IT teams on system integrations, APIs, and data architecture initiatives
• Lead or contribute to business analysis standards, governance, and planning activities
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior business analysts
Qualifications & Experience
• Undergraduate degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• 8–10 years of experience in business analysis, IT project delivery, or digital transformation
• Strong experience in:
o Stakeholder management
o Requirements elicitation and workshops
o Documentation and analysis
• Experience supporting enterprise IT implementations and cloud-based systems
• Proficiency in test scenario design, test case development, and test management documentation
• Strong experience in process analysis, improvement, and process documentation
Technical Skills
• Experience supporting data migration and system integration initiatives
• Knowledge of AI concepts, machine learning applications
• Data visualization tools such as Power BI or similar reporting platforms
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Nice to Have
• Experience leading or mentoring business analysts
• Professional certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
• Experience working within Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban)
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration platforms
• Exposure to AI initiatives, automation programs, or advanced analytics projects
• Experience supporting enterprise systems such as ERP, HRIS, or risk management platforms
