Job Description

Senior DevOps Engineer

Enterprise Product Line: DevOps

Location: Nashik / Pune, India

Reporting to: Head of DevOps

Mission

Lead and evolve our Azure-based DevOps platform to deliver secure, reliable, and fast software delivery. As a Senior Engineer, you will drive DevOps culture, optimize CI/CD pipelines, and mentor engineers. As a Principal Engineer, you will define strategic direction, shape technical vision, and lead adoption of scalable automation solutions in international team located in India and Europe.

Responsibilities

Strategy: Guide the execution of our DevOps strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals. Track progress against defined milestones and KPIs, and influence prioritization across teams.

Platform Engineering & Automation: Design and operate Azure DevOps pipelines for .NET/C#, automate infrastructure with PowerShell and ARM/Bicep, enforce configuration-as-code.

CI/CD & Release Management: Standardize templates, manage artifact versioning, deployment rings, and rollback strategies.

Quality Engineering Support: Enable automated test execution in pipelines for frameworks like xUnit, Jest, Cypress, JMeter (or equivalents); provision and manage test environments for integration and performance testing. (Note: We do not author tests but ensure robust automation and environment readiness.)

Reliability, Security & Compliance (DevSecOps): Embed security in pipelines (SCA/SAST, secret scanning), enforce policy via Azure DevOps, and integrate security practices throughout CI/CD. Operate with the least privilege using Entra ID, maintain RBAC and secrets hygiene, and ensure uptime/SLOs for shared DevOps services. Participate in on-call (reasonable IST hours).

Atlassian Administration: Govern Jira workflows, Confluence spaces, and integrations for release notes/runbooks.

Collaboration & Leadership: Partner with developers, QA, and architects; mentor engineers; support an evolving DevOps community of practice in India.

AI & Emerging Tech: Stay ahead in AI-driven DevOps. We use AI agents for build monitoring and vibe coding; knowledge of LLMs, AI-assisted coding tools, and automation opportunities is a must. Drive innovation by identifying and implementing AI use cases that improve efficiency and reliability.

Profile

Senior: 8–10 years in DevOps/Platform Engineering with strong Azure DevOps experience.

Principal: 10+ years including strategic leadership and large-scale standardization.

Core Skills: Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts), PowerShell, C#/.NET build tooling, Azure fundamentals, Jira/Confluence administration, observability practices.

Nice to Have: IaC (Bicep/Terraform), containerization, hybrid build agents, security in CI/CD.

Behaviors: Ownership mindset, bias for automation, clear communication, collaborative leadership.

Location & Work Mode: Must be based in Nashik; regular on-site presence required. Work hours aligned to IST with occasional off-hours support.
