Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant / Associate – UK Accounting & Tax to join our growing UK Accounting practice. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing accounting, bookkeeping, taxation, and statutory compliance for UK-based clients. This role requires strong technical expertise in UK accounting standards, UK taxation, cloud accounting software, and excellent client communication skills.
The successful candidate will independently manage client portfolios, prepare accurate financial reports, ensure statutory compliance, and deliver exceptional accounting services while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
UK Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and finalize Year-End Accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Limited Companies.
- Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, FRS 102, and FRS 105.
- Review financial statements and supporting schedules before submission.
- Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
UK Taxation & Compliance
- Prepare, review, and file Self-Assessment Tax Returns for individuals.
- Handle taxation relating to employment income, dividends, property income, capital gains, foreign income, and investments.
- Prepare Corporation Tax computations and CT600 Returns.
- Calculate capital allowances, tax adjustments, and provide tax planning support.
- Ensure timely HMRC compliance and statutory filing deadlines.
- Prepare and submit VAT Returns while ensuring Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance.
- Perform VAT reconciliations and resolve tax-related discrepancies.
Bookkeeping & Accounting Operations
- Manage end-to-end bookkeeping using cloud accounting software.
- Process journal entries and maintain accurate General Ledger records.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Fixed Asset Registers.
- Process payroll accounting entries and maintain supporting documentation.
- Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
Management Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly Management Accounts.
- Generate Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Reports.
- Perform Budget vs Actual analysis and variance reporting.
- Provide meaningful financial insights to support business decision-making.
- Assist clients with financial reporting and management information requirements.
Client Relationship Management
- Communicate professionally with UK clients through emails and virtual meetings.
- Respond to accounting, taxation, and compliance-related queries.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely completion of client deliverables.
- Build strong client relationships by delivering high-quality accounting services and proactive support.
Quality Assurance & Process Improvement
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance across all assignments.
- Ensure proper documentation and working papers are maintained.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
- Stay updated with changes in UK accounting standards, HMRC regulations, and taxation laws.

- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client assignments.
Qualifications
- CA / Inter-CA / ACCA (Qualified or Part Qualified).
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in UK Accounting or Taxation will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Experience working in a UK Accounting Outsourcing Firm or UK Accounting Practice.
- Hands-on experience in UK bookkeeping, accounting, taxation, and compliance.
- Experience independently managing UK client portfolios is highly preferred.
