Job Description

Company Description:

We are a lean, fast-moving, fully remote team in the infotech, online education industry, building with intention and our clients’ best interests in mind. No unnecessary layers, no bureaucracy — just smart, driven people focused on impact and execution.

Our culture is grounded in radical transparency, extreme ownership, and continuous growth, both personally and professionally. We operate with high standards and high trust, reflected in an average employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) of 95%.

As we continue to scale, we are investing in strengthening the financial infrastructure that supports our next stage of growth.

The Role:

We’re hiring a Senior Accountant to help stabilize, standardize, and scale our accounting foundation.

This role sits at the center of an evolving finance function. You will own the integrity of the general ledger, lead month-end close, maintain reconciliations, and play a key role in improving systems, workflows, and controls.

This is not a maintenance role — it’s an opportunity to build, improve, and create structure in a growing environment.

In the near term, you’ll partner closely with the Head of Finance to bring stability and clarity to existing processes. Over time, you’ll take full ownership of recurring accounting operations, enabling leadership to focus on strategic initiatives.

There is a clear path for growth into an Accounting Manager role as the function scales.

Why This Role Is Exciting:

  • High ownership early — you’ll directly shape the accounting function
  • Opportunity to build systems and processes from the ground up
  • Direct exposure to leadership and financial decision-making
  • Meaningful impact in a high-growth environment
  • Clear path to step into a leadership role as the company scales

What You’ll Do:

Close & Financial Accuracy

  • Own month-end close with consistent timelines and minimal rework
  • Maintain full reconciliation of balance sheet, revenue, and cash accounts
  • Ensure financial data is accurate, reliable, and decision-ready
  • Transition at least 80% of recurring close responsibilities from the Head of Finance within the first 90 days

Systems & Process Ownership

  • Document, standardize, and improve core accounting workflows
  • Own preparation and ongoing improvement of reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Monitor and stabilize accounting system integrations and data flows
  • Design and implement scalable accounting SOPs

Operational Accounting Oversight

  • Oversee key operational accounting areas including AP, AR, payroll, and commissions
  • Support audit readiness and tax preparation
  • Partner with Finance Operations to align workflows with accounting requirements

Upcoming Initiatives

  • Integration of a new AR billing system and workflows
  • Implementation of an expense management system
  • Payroll system migration
  • Development of chargeback prevention and resolution SOPs
  • Transition from cash to accrual GAAP accounting

Who You Are:

You’ll thrive in this role if you...

  • Enjoy building structure in evolving environments
  • Take pride in turning complexity into clarity
  • Fix inefficient workflows rather than working around them
  • Operate confidently with incomplete documentation and improve it
  • Take ownership beyond task execution
  • Balance strong attention to detail with an understanding of the bigger financial picture

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 4 or more years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong ownership of month-end close and reconciliations
  • Experience in a growth-stage or scaling environment
  • Demonstrated ability to improve and document processes
  • Strong Excel proficiency
  • Experience with QuickBooks and other accounting system integrations
  • Clear communication skills and comfort working with leadership
  • Ability to operate effectively in environments that are still being built

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Full-time 1099 contract role (will shift to W2 employee status in Q4 2026)
  • Fully remote with a North America-based team
  • Compensation of $80,000 to $90,000 USD depending on experience

Additional Perks Include:

  • Company training and education fund
  • Annual all-expenses-paid company offsites
  • Remote-first flexibility

Core Values:

  • Radical Transparency
  • Extreme Ownership
  • Be a Force of Nature
  • Objective Always
  • Fail Forward

Hiring Process:

Our process typically includes three to four video conversations and may include a short task-based assessment.

Final Note:

If you enjoy building systems, bringing structure to complexity, and playing a meaningful role in scaling a business, we’d love to hear from you.
