SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) – Automation (Must have 5-8 Years)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) – Automation professional to strengthen their quality engineering team. This role focuses on building robust automation frameworks, ensuring high-quality software delivery, and collaborating closely with development teams to enable continuous testing in fast-paced environments.

Job Locations: Chennai, Hyderabad & Coimbatore

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation test frameworks using Java
• Create and execute automated test scripts using Selenium
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams to understand requirements and test scenarios
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Perform test execution, defect tracking, and root cause analysis
• Ensure test coverage across functional, regression, and integration testing
• Continuously improve test processes, tools, and best practices
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to quality standards

Required Skills

• 5–8 years of experience in Automation Testing / SDET roles
• Strong proficiency in Java programming
• Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver
• Solid understanding of automation testing concepts and frameworks
• Experience with test design, execution, and defect management
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with TestNG / JUnit / Cucumber
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Exposure to API automation and RESTful services
• Experience with performance or security testing tools
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments
