Position: Sales Operations Manager

Location: Head Office – Kolkata
CTC: ₹10,00,000 – ₹12,00,000 per annum


About the Role

Saburi Ply is looking for an experienced Sales Operations Manager who will act as the strategic backbone of the National Sales Team. This is primarily an office-based leadership role focused on sales planning, business analysis, sales coordination, performance monitoring, and commercial decision support.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the Plywood Industry and possess a strong understanding of dealer networks, product movement, sales processes, pricing, inventory coordination, and business analytics.

The role requires someone who can convert sales data into actionable business insights, improve sales efficiency, support regional sales teams, and work closely with senior management to drive organizational growth.

This is not a field sales position. Travel will be required only when business demands such as branch reviews, market audits, distributor meetings, or strategic business interventions arise.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Planning & Business Analysis


  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual sales plans in alignment with business objectives.
  • Analyze sales performance across regions, branches, products, and sales personnel.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports for senior management.
  • Monitor achievement against budgets, targets, and forecasts.
  • Identify business trends, sales gaps, growth opportunities, and underperforming markets.
  • Recommend strategic corrective actions based on data analysis.

Sales Operations


  • Coordinate with Regional Sales Managers, Branch Heads, and Management for smooth execution of sales plans.
  • Monitor order flow, dispatch status, stock availability, and sales pipeline.
  • Ensure timely reporting from all sales locations.
  • Standardize sales processes and operational practices across branches.
  • Track sales KPIs and ensure compliance with organizational targets.

Business Coordination


  • Act as the central coordination point between Sales, Marketing, Production, Supply Chain, Finance, and Management.
  • Assist management in pricing decisions, product launches, sales campaigns, and business initiatives.
  • Support new market expansion through research and sales planning.
  • Coordinate inter-departmental activities to improve operational efficiency.

Performance Monitoring


  • Develop sales dashboards and performance scorecards.
  • Monitor productivity of sales teams and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze product-wise, territory-wise, and customer-wise performance.
  • Review sales expenses, profitability, and return on investment.
  • Present business insights and recommendations during management review meetings.

Market Intelligence


  • Track competitor activities, pricing strategies, product positioning, and market developments.
  • Collect and analyze market intelligence to support strategic decision-making.
  • Recommend business improvement initiatives based on market trends.

Reporting & Documentation


  • Prepare management presentations and business reports.
  • Maintain accurate sales databases and documentation.
  • Generate periodic reports on revenue, collections, inventory movement, and market performance.
  • Ensure data accuracy and timely submission of reports.



Requirements

Desired Candidate Profile
  • Graduate in any discipline. An MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Must have 8–12 years of experience in the Plywood Industry.
  • Strong understanding of dealer and distributor business models.
  • Experience in sales operations, business planning, MIS, commercial coordination, or sales analytics.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large volumes of sales data.
  • Excellent knowledge of sales reporting and business performance metrics.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
  • Experience working with ERP/CRM systems is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work closely with senior leadership and support strategic business decisions.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally based on business requirements.
