About MarcatIndia's retailers are becoming digital. They have billing systems, transaction data and increasingly sophisticated operations.
But much of this data remains underutilised.
Marcat is building a retail technology platform that helps retailers turn their existing business data into better commercial intelligence, visibility and growth opportunities.
We are currently building our retailer network in Ahmedabad.
And we are looking for someone who wants to build the market with us.
The RoleThis is a hands-on revenue role.
You will work directly with Marcat's founding team to acquire, demonstrate, sell and activate Marcat across retail outlets in Ahmedabad.
You won't inherit a mature sales playbook.
You will help us build one.
You will be in the market, speaking with retail business owners, understanding how they operate, demonstrating the Marcat platform and converting qualified retailers into paying customers.
Your outcome is revenue.
Not the number of calls made.
Not the number of WhatsApp messages sent.
Not the number of retailers marked “interested.”
What You Will Own- Build Marcat's retailer presence across assigned Ahmedabad territories.
- Identify and personally visit qualified retail outlets.
- Meet store owners and key decision-makers.
- Understand the retailer's existing billing software and business operations.
- Demonstrate the Marcat platform and communicate its commercial value.
- Own retailer follow-ups from the first conversation to closure.
- Convert qualified retailers into paid Marcat customers.
- Support initial retailer onboarding and activation.
- Maintain a disciplined retailer and revenue pipeline.
- Capture objections, competitor insights and real market feedback.
- Work directly with the founders to improve the pitch, pricing and sales process.
- Help build Marcat's on-ground GTM playbook.
You may have 1–3 years of experience in:
- SaaS or software sales
- POS or billing software
- ERP solutions
- Fintech or merchant acquisition
- B2B technology sales
- SME sales
- Field business development
Prior software sales experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
What matters more is that you can understand a technology product and confidently sell its business value.
You must be:
- Comfortable walking into a retail outlet and starting a conversation with the owner.
- Strong at follow-ups and commercially persistent.
- Comfortable demonstrating a software platform.
- Willing to spend significant time in the Ahmedabad market.
- Comfortable working against revenue targets.
- Disciplined with sales pipeline and reporting.
- Fluent in Gujarati and Hindi.
- Able to communicate professionally in basic English.
You are looking for a desk-based sales role.
You prefer generating reports over meeting customers.
You consider “interested” a successful sales outcome.
You need an established brand to open customer conversations.
You are uncomfortable with revenue-linked performance.

Your market feedback will influence the product, pricing and retailer acquisition strategy.
Build, Not Just ExecuteYou are joining while Marcat's Ahmedabad GTM engine is being built.
The processes and playbooks created now will become the foundation for future market expansion.
Performance-Linked GrowthThis role has a fixed compensation component along with aggressive performance-linked incentives.
Monthly earning potential under the standard performance structure is up to ₹30,000.
Exceptional performance beyond defined targets may be separately recognised by management.
Career GrowthAs Marcat expands its retailer acquisition team and enters additional territories, consistent performers will be considered for larger territory and team responsibilities.
Growth here will be linked to demonstrated performance, not tenure.
