About The Client

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading Tier-1 supplier in the automotive and electric mobility ecosystem, delivering advanced EV powertrain solutions including traction motors, inverters, and controllers to major automotive OEMs.

Role Overview

The EV Powertrain Technical Sales / Key Account Manager will be responsible for driving strategic business growth by identifying new market opportunities and managing key customer relationships across electric mobility segments including L2, L3, L5 and LCV applications.

The role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, commercial understanding, and market intelligence to expand business opportunities for EV powertrain components such as traction motors, motor controllers, and inverters. The candidate will work closely with automotive OEMs, lead customer engagements, and manage the full lifecycle of EV programs from RFQ to SOP (Start of Production).

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business growth for EV powertrain solutions across key mobility segments.
  • Develop and manage strong relationships with Indian automotive and EV OEMs.
  • Identify new market opportunities for traction motors, controllers, inverters, and EV powertrain components.
  • Manage key customer accounts and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Lead OEM engagements and represent the organization in strategic customer discussions.
  • Handle program lifecycle management from RFQ (Request for Quotation) to SOP (Start of Production).
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to align solutions with customer requirements.
  • Conduct market intelligence including competitor benchmarking, pricing strategy, and market analysis.
  • Develop strategic sales plans to expand OEM business and increase market share.
  • Participate in customer presentations, technical discussions, and business negotiations.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams including engineering, program management, and supply chain.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E / B.Tech); MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in EV powertrain technical sales or automotive component sales
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in EV powertrain components (Motors, Controllers, Inverters)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing relationships with automotive OEMs (L2/L3/L5/LCV segments preferred)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in program lifecycle management (RFQ to SOP)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in market intelligence and strategy (competitor benchmarking, pricing analysis)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Key Account Management
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Business Development
  • Strong experience working with EV or automotive Tier-1 suppliers
  • Strong technical understanding of EV powertrain systems and automotive components
  • Established network with senior stakeholders across Indian automotive OEMs
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong team collaboration and networking capabilities
  • Willingness to travel across South India as required
