Position

Regional Operations Manager (ROM)

Role Objective

The Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for driving operational excellence, inventory accuracy, manpower productivity, warehouse efficiency, customer service levels and cost optimisation across all facilities within the assigned region.

The role requires a hands-on leader capable of building systems, improving processes and ensuring operational discipline at scale.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
  • Own day-to-day operational performance across assigned warehouses and fulfilment centres.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, customer SLAs and internal control processes.
  • Drive operational consistency across all locations in the region.
  • Monitor daily fill rates, dispatch performance and turnaround times.
Inventory Management
  • Ensure inventory accuracy across all locations.
  • Drive cycle count compliance and inventory reconciliation.
  • Monitor ageing inventory and inventory utilisation.
  • Ensure FEFO/FIFO adherence where applicable.
Manpower Management
  • Manage warehouse managers and city operations teams.
  • Drive productivity and manpower utilisation.
  • Ensure attendance, discipline and workforce planning.
  • Identify manpower gaps and recruitment requirements.
Recruitment & Team Building
  • Support hiring of warehouse managers, supervisors and operations staff.
  • Participate in interviews and final selection.
  • Drive onboarding and training initiatives.
  • Build succession plans for critical roles.
Cost Optimisation
  • Continuously improve warehouse productivity.
  • Reduce operational waste and inefficiencies.
  • Improve space utilisation across warehouses.
  • Drive cost per order and cost per case reduction initiatives.
  • Improve resource utilisation without impacting service quality.
Customer Management
  • Ensure service delivery commitments are achieved.
  • Handle operational escalations.
  • Support key account reviews.
  • Drive customer satisfaction and retention.
Expansion & New Launches
  • Support launch of new warehouses and operational nodes.
  • Implement standard operating procedures.
  • Stabilise new operations within defined timelines.

  • Key Result Areas (KRAs)

    The Regional Operations Manager will be measured on the following outcomes:

    Fill Rate Excellence

    Maintain regional fill rates above 90% by ensuring timely replenishment, inventory availability and proactive issue resolution.

    Inventory Accuracy

    Achieve inventory accuracy above 99% across all warehouses through robust controls, cycle counts, audits and reconciliation processes.

    SLA Adherence

    Ensure all customer and internal service level agreements are consistently met with dispatch adherence above 98%.

    Operational Discipline

    Drive strict adherence to SOPs, operational controls, audit requirements and compliance standards across all facilities within the region.

    Manpower Productivity

    Continuously improve manpower productivity through effective workforce planning, training, deployment and performance management.

    Cost Optimisation

    Identify and implement initiatives that reduce cost per order, cost per case handled and overall warehouse operating costs without compromising service quality.

    Warehouse Space Utilisation

    Maximise warehouse storage efficiency and improve inventory density through better slotting, layout planning and inventory movement strategies.

    Inventory Ageing Control

    Monitor inventory ageing and ensure timely liquidation, stock rotation and inventory optimisation to minimise working capital blockage.

    Customer Service Performance

    Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive communication, quick issue resolution and consistent operational execution.

    Recruitment & Team Development

    Build strong regional teams by ensuring timely hiring, structured onboarding, capability development and succession planning for key positions.

    Expansion & Stabilisation

    Successfully launch and stabilise new warehouses, fulfilment centres and operational nodes within the assigned region while maintaining operational standards.

    Continuous Improvement

    Drive a culture of operational excellence through process improvements, automation, data-driven decision making and performance benchmarking across locations.

    Profitability & Business Performance

    Support the organisation's profitability goals by improving operational efficiency, reducing wastage, optimising resource utilisation and enhancing throughput across the region.


    Candidates from the following industries will be preferred:

    • 3PL Logistics
    • Supply Chain
    • Warehousing
    • FMCG Distribution
    • Quick Commerce
    • Contract Logistics

    Experience from companies such as Amazon, Flipkart, Delhivery, Xpressbees, Ecom Express, DHL, Blue Dart, Zepto, Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, BigBasket, Shadowfax, Shiprocket or similar organisations will be highly preferred.


    Qualification
    • Graduate in any discipline
    • MBA Operations / Supply Chain preferred
    • 8-15 years of operations experience
    • Multi-site warehouse management experience mandatory
    • Strong analytical and leadership skills
    • Willingness to travel extensively within assigned region
