Job Description
Primary Purpose Of Position
Under the leadership of the HR Employment, Classification & Compensation Manager, the Human Resources Consultant serves as the subject matter expert for Employment business processes across EHRA Non-Faculty, SHRA , Temporary, and Student Employment. The position manages end-to-end recruitment, hiring, and personnel action workflows while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of all actions in alignment with HR Employment and Payroll deadlines. The Consultant partners with assigned units to understand operational needs and deliver both operational and strategic recruitment support. This includes leading initiatives related to talent branding, targeted sourcing strategies, recruitment marketing, enhancing the candidate experience, and managing specialized job boards to attract high-quality talent. The role also provides expert guidance on recruitment, hiring, position management, and employment policies across employee categories. Success in this role requires strong communication, sound judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to build effective relationships across a diverse client base. The Consultant ensures consistent policy interpretation and full adherence to internal HR procedures, the UNC System Office, and the Office of State Human Resources ( OSHR ) regulations.
