Quality Head-EHV Plant

We are hiring senior leaders for our Greenfield EHV Manufacturing Facility. The role requires hands-on experience in 220–550 kV cables. Only candidates with relevant domain exposure are encouraged to apply.

Job Purpose

To Handle and Set up the Quality cum Testing activities for a green field EHV cable manufacturing plant leading a team of professionals.

Accountabilities

1.Lead the MR, Quality Assurance & Quality Control department for EHV cable manufacturing.

2.Develop, implement, and monitor quality management systems (QMS) in line with ISO/IEC and industry-specific standards.

3.Establish and maintain testing protocols for raw materials, in-process, and finished products.

4.Oversee compliance with national and international standards such as IS, IEC, BS, and UL.

5.Collaborate with R&D and Production teams to ensure product quality from design to delivery.

6.Drive initiatives in Six Sigma/Lean methodologies to minimize defects and enhance efficiency.

7.Handle customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).

8.Train and mentor the Quality team to build a culture of continuous improvement.

9. Interface with regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and external auditors.

10.Ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of HV/EHV cable standards, testing, and certifications.
• Hands-on expertise in QMS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS/ISO 45001.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proven ability in problem-solving, process optimization, and defect reduction.
• Customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage escalations effectively.
• Proficiency in quality tools like FMEA, SPC, MSA, 7QC tools, Kaizen, Six Sigma.

Requirements & Skills

1. Qualification: B.E in electrical/mechanical
2. 15-20 years’ experience in cable manufacturing industry
3. Excellent Leadership capabilities with a coordination of interfacing departments within company.
4. Good experience of cables quality and testing right from 1 kV cable upto 550 kV with a mandatory exposure for EHV cables.
5. Computer proficiency with know how of statistical tools for data analysis.
6. Able to set up a Testing lab with NABL accreditation standards.
7. Exposure in quality cum testing documentations / SOPs.
8. Good communication and presentation skills to represent company’s stake among TPIs /Supplier’s/Utilities either nationally or internationally.
9. Knowledge of national and international standards for cables is must. A prior working experience in setting similar facilities would be preferred.
