Quality Control Lead

About Us

We are a 30 year established wire and cable manufacturing company known for quality, reliability, and long-term industry partnerships. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Quality Control Lead to head our QC department and strengthen our quality systems, process control, and compliance framework.

Role Summary

Quality System Management

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality management systems
• Maintain and improve SOPs, work instructions, and quality manuals
• Lead internal and external audits
• Coordinate with certification bodies and third-party inspectors

Production Quality Control

• Monitor quality across all processes: Wire drawing, Stranding, Insulation & Sheathing (PVC / XLPE), Armouring & Laying
• Ensure adherence to BIS / IS / IEC / customer specifications
• Supervise in-process and final inspection activities

Testing & Laboratory Management

• Oversee electrical and physical testing including: Conductor resistance, Insulation resistance, High voltage test, Spark test, Tensile & elongation test, Heat shock / ageing tests
• Ensure proper calibration of lab equipment
• Maintain accurate test reports and documentation

Team Leadership

• Lead and manage QC inspectors and lab technicians
• Train production teams on quality standards and defect prevention
• Develop a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving

• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for quality issues
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Reduce rejection rate, rework, and customer complaints
• Drive Lean manufacturing and quality improvement initiatives

Customer & Vendor Quality Interface

• Handle customer audits and technical inspections
• Resolve customer complaints with structured analysis and reporting
• Evaluate and monitor supplier quality performance

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
• 8–10 years of experience in cable & wire manufacturing
• Minimum 3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
• Strong knowledge of: BIS / IS standards, IEC standards, ISO 9001 systems
• Experience handling export quality documentation (preferred)

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of cable manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of statistical quality control tools
• Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, etc.)
• Excellent documentation & reporting ability
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel & ERP systems
• High attention to detail and process orientation
• Reduction in internal rejection percentage
• Reduction in customer complaints
• Audit compliance score
• Scrap reduction targets
• On-time completion of quality documentation
