Job Description

Summary

We seek a highly skilled and motivated QA Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual and automation testing, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality software. You will ensure our applications' reliability, functionality, and performance within a fast-paced Agile environment.

Role

Our QA Engineers can understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests and/or user-level test automation tools. They work with groups such as product owners, development teams, delivery support, and customer support to understand requirements and customer usage models and develop test suites that approximate real-world environments and regression tests. QA Engineers also drive the software development process toward quality-centric methodologies.

The core responsibilities will cover:

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and cases for manual and automated testing efforts.
  • Contribute significantly to QA automation testing, including the creation, maintenance, and execution of automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in automating tests across various layers, including frontend, backend, and APIs.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to identify, document, prioritise, and track software defects through resolution.
  • Utilise technical skills to investigate and troubleshoot test defects effectively, providing detailed insights to assist developers.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Work with cloud-based environments, ensuring testing strategies are adapted for such infrastructures (preferably AWS).
  • Manage test cases and defects using tools like Xray and JIRA, ensuring a clear understanding of user story lifecycles and testing coverage.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, building rapport and facilitating effective communication.
  • Champion quality assurance best practices and advocate for innovative ideas to enhance product quality, regardless of their origin.

We are a small and growing company, so the best fit is a forward-looking, enthusiastic personality who is not afraid to stretch themselves and learn rapidly. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants to work for a dynamic young software company building software for the financial services industry. It offers a great chance to learn all about capital markets and derivative products.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a QA Engineer, with expertise in automated testing frameworks.
  • Demonstrable and significant experience in QA Automation testing, including executing automation tests on CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working with cloud-based environments (preferably AWS).
  • Strong experience automating frontend, backend, and API testing using Python.
  • Solid knowledge of Agile methodologies and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard tools such as Playwright, Postman/Bruno, Cucumber/Gherkin, and Rest Assured.
  • Proficiency with test management tools like Xray and version control systems like GitLab.
  • Experience with JIRA, understanding the full lifecycle of user stories and testing processes. Good working knowledge of SQL.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills.
  • Excellent internal and external rapport-building and people skills, with a proven ability to establish strong working relationships.
  • The ability to advocate for good ideas and solutions, irrespective of their source.
  • Experience in the financial industry, with exposure to derivatives, prime brokerage, and margin/collateral management.
  • Prior experience in performance testing.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Professional fluency in English (both written and spoken)
