Quality Assurance Engineer

QA Engineer x 1 & Senior QA Engineer x 1 – Non-Functional Testing

Location: Newcastle – Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)

Rate: QA - £365 per day (Inside IR35) and Senior QA up to £450pd

Clearance: BPSS Required

Contract: Initial 3-Month Contract

We are supporting a major public-sector programme seeking an experienced QA Engineer and a Senior QA Engineer with strong non-functional testing experience to join a high-performing engineering team delivering complex digital transformation work.

This role is focused on automation-first quality engineering within modern CI/CD environments, with a particular emphasis on performance, accessibility, and non-functional assurance across large-scale cloud-based platforms.

Key Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Java
• Selenium
• Cucumber
• Strong experience in non-functional testing, including:
• Performance testing
• Accessibility testing
• Security testing
• Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks
• Experience working within Agile, BDD, and TDD environments
• CI/CD pipeline experience
• Strong API and integration testing capability
• Comfortable working closely with developers within engineering-led teams

Nice to Have

• Experience with JMeter, Gatling, k6, or similar performance tools
• Experience with accessibility standards such as WCAG
• Cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure)

Essential

• BPSS Clearance
• Ability to attend site in Newcastle 2 days per week
• Public sector or government programme experience
