Quality Assurance Engineer (Ai First)

About us :

Contractor+ builds an all-in-one app for contractors. They use it to manage clients, send estimates, collect payments, schedule jobs, and more. Think of it as the operating system for running a contracting business.

We're a small, fast-moving team of about 30 people. Quality isn't a phase here. It's the product. Our users run their livelihoods on this app. If something breaks, someone doesn't get paid.

What's this role about?

You'll own quality across everything we ship. Web, iOS, Android, and APIs.

The "AI-First" part is simple. We want someone who already uses AI tools in their testing work. Using ChatGPT or Claude to generate test cases. Using Copilot while writing automation scripts. Using tools like Testim or Mabl to crush regression cycles. If you're already doing this, you'll fit right in.

Day to day, you'll:

• Test every feature before it reaches a single user. Find the bugs no one thought to look for.
• Write and maintain automated tests using Playwright, Cypress, or Appium. Not record-and-playback. Real scripts you can debug and extend.
• Test on real phones and emulators. iOS and Android. If it crashes on a 3-year-old Android phone, that's on you to catch.
• Hit API endpoints with Postman or similar tools. Validate responses, edge cases, and error handling.
• Write bug reports so clear that developers can reproduce the issue in under two minutes.
• Use AI tools to move faster. Generate test data, write scripts, analyze logs. Whatever gives you leverage.
• Say "this isn't ready to ship" when it isn't. Even when the deadline is tight.
• When there's no assigned work, go hunting. Revisit old flows, stress-test overlooked paths, improve test coverage on your own. The best QA testers don't wait for tickets.

What we're looking for :

• 2-3 years of QA experience. Manual, automation, or both. But you should be writing code, not just clicking through screens.
• You use AI tools daily. Not as a novelty. As a workflow. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Testim, Mabl, or anything that makes you dangerous.
• You write test scripts from scratch. Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Selenium. You understand selectors, waits, assertions, and why flaky tests are unacceptable.
• You test with paranoia. You think about what happens when the network drops mid-save, when a user pastes 10,000 characters, when someone hits "back" three times fast. Edge cases are your territory.
• Your communication is sharp. Bug reports, test plans, Slack messages. People read your updates and know exactly what's happening.

Good to know :

• Salary: 8-10 LPA
• Location: Remote. Open to candidates in India and Pakistan.
• Notice period: Immediate joiners preferred. Up to 30 days is fine.
• Equipment: You'll need your own laptop and a mobile device for testing. We don't provide hardware.
• Time tracking: We use TeamLogger. You should be comfortable with that.
• Health insurance: Not offered yet.
