Job Description – QA Consultant

Salary- 3.6LPA - 7LPA

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive QA Consultant with strong experience in test case writing, execution, defect tracking, and QA process coordination. The ideal candidate should be able to work closely with BA, development, support, implementation, and release teams to ensure high-quality product delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Write test cases for change requests by reviewing updated FSDs from JIRA, seeking clarifications from BA when required, attending walkthroughs with Dev and BA teams, drafting test cases in TestRail based on signed-off FSDs, and getting them reviewed by the respective BA.
• Review and oversee test cases written by junior consultants based on product expertise and experience level.
• Write regression, client-specific, and issue-based test cases by understanding product modules, client business flows, and issue scenarios functionally.
• Draft test scenarios and test cases for different product functionalities.
• Update old test scenarios in the regression bank in TestRail.
• Execute test scenarios in TestRail and update results accurately.
• Review execution done by junior consultants.
• Train on different products and functionalities.
• Mentor other testers on testing, product functionality, tools, and QA processes.
• Report, track, retest, and follow through on defects in JIRA until resolution.
• Understand and align with QA processes and project/release team requirements.
• Communicate and coordinate with peers, seniors, and other departments such as support, development, BA, and implementation to complete assigned work.
• Learn and implement product build installations and upgrades in the QA environment effectively.
• Debug relevant issues to ensure QA links and products are properly installed.
• Coordinate with the build engineer for new setups and required executables.
• Train new QAs and assist them with product functionality, tools, QA environment, build upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Support the setup and debugging of QA environment issues.
• Stay updated on new and upcoming project work and product releases within the QA department.
• Assist lead QAs and managers with test case writing and testing estimation activities.
• Provide timely updates on daily tasks, status reports, and time spent on work.

Skills Required

• Awareness of the products and services offered.
• 3 or more years of hands-on QA experience preferred.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical background preferred.
• Additional QA or testing certifications such as ISTQB or software testing diplomas will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of QA and testing terminology.
• Result-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and logical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and TestRail will be an added advantage.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications Required

• Graduate in Computer Science or IT Engineering preferred.
• Graduate in BCA or a relevant field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
