Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Strategic Procurement Engineer with strong technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical components, including sheet metal fabrication, thermal products, and electrical assemblies. The candidate must be proficient in interpreting 2D/3D engineering drawings and BOMs, and capable of driving cost optimization, supplier development, and sourcing strategies.

Key Responsibilities;

Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Development
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for mechanical and electrical components including sheet metal parts, thermal systems, and electrical assemblies.
Technical Evaluation of Suppliers
Evaluate supplier capabilities based on manufacturing processes, quality systems, technical expertise, and cost competitiveness.
Drawing & BOM Interpretation
Accurately interpret 2D and 3D engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure proper sourcing and technical compliance.
Cost Analysis & Optimization
Perform cost breakdown analysis, value engineering, and cost reduction initiatives through alternate materials, process improvements, and negotiation.
RFQ & Contract Management
Prepare RFQs, compare techno-commercial bids, negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with Design, R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Project teams to ensure timely procurement aligned with project schedules.
Quality & Compliance Management
Ensure suppliers meet required quality standards, regulatory requirements, and technical specifications.
Risk Management & Supply Continuity
Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies including dual sourcing and supplier performance monitoring.
