Job Description
Objective
The Project Manager will define, scope, initiate, and manage large departmental projects with moderate to high risk while supporting business and program management staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, document, and execute high-risk, complex, and high-visibility projects through all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Define, scope, initiate, and manage large, complex, business-critical projects while supporting business and program management staff.
- Lead the definition, delivery, and deployment phases of the project process.
- Initiate and manage multiple large projects simultaneously across multiple locations with multiple dependencies.
- Manage projects using established project management methodologies to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to quality expectations.
- Determine project methodology and define project scope and objectives.
- Agree on project scope and constraints to establish realistic cost, timeline, and resource estimates.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet business requirements.
- Produce and maintain all standard project documentation, including:
- Project plans
- Work plans
- Schedules
- Project estimates
- Conversion schedules
- Resource plans
- Status reports
- Manage IT infrastructure and IT Service Management-related projects, ensuring alignment with business and operational objectives.
- Collaborate with technical and operational teams to support:
- Service reliability
- Disaster recovery
- High availability
- Cloud-based initiatives
Technical / Professional Skills & Competencies
- Project delivery
- Project risk management
- Project communications
- Third-party/vendor management
- IT Service Management and ITIL processes
- Service reliability concepts and tools
- Disaster recovery and high availability concepts
- Cloud platforms and cloud service concepts
- Experience managing IT projects within an IT Service Management environment
Certifications / Education
- PMP or equivalent Project Management certification is considered an asset but is not required.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–4 years of project management experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing IT and Service Management projects.
- Experience leading projects with teams across multiple geographic locations.
- Proven ability to deliver projects successfully within established timelines and budgets.
- Familiarity with:
- Service reliability concepts
- IT Service Management/ITIL processes
- Disaster recovery
- High availability
- Cloud platforms and cloud service concepts
- Strong understanding of managing IT projects within a Service Management environment.
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $60.50-70.50/hr CAD.
