Position Title: Project Manager – Tamil Nadu

Location: Chennai (with frequent travel across Tamil Nadu)

Salary: ₹30,000 per month

Position Overview

RACLD is seeking a motivated and capable Project Manager for Tamil Nadu to coordinate project activities across the state. The role involves overseeing project implementation, travelling to districts, monitoring field-level activities, and contributing to strategic planning for the organisation’s work in Tamil Nadu.

The position requires a proactive professional who can combine project management, field engagement, and strategic thinking while working closely with the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities1. Project Leadership and Coordination

• Coordinate the implementation of RACLD projects across Tamil Nadu
• Coordinate with district-level stakeholders and partner organisations
• Ensure timely execution of project activities and milestones
• Support the development and expansion of RACLD initiatives in the state

2. Field Monitoring and Engagement

• Travel to districts across Tamil Nadu to monitor project activities
• Interact with local institutions, community stakeholders, and field teams
• Assess progress and identify challenges in implementation
• Provide field insights to improve programme effectiveness

3. Strategy and Programme Development

• Contribute to strategic planning for RACLD’s work in Tamil Nadu
• Identify opportunities for programme expansion and partnerships
• Support the design of new initiatives related to democracy, governance, and citizen engagement

4. Documentation and Reporting

• Prepare periodic project reports and documentation
• Maintain records of field visits and programme outcomes
• Support internal reporting and communication with the leadership team

5. Institutional Representation

• Represent RACLD in meetings, field interactions, and relevant forums
• Build relationships with stakeholders including civil society organisations, local institutions, and community leaders

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Master’s degree in Public Policy, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Political Science, or related fields
• 4–5 years of relevant experience in project management, development sector work, or governance-related initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to manage and implement projects effectively
• Strong communication skills in English and Tamil
• Good documentation and reporting skills
• Willingness to travel frequently across Tamil Nadu
• Ability to work independently and take initiative

Preferred Profile

• Prior experience working with governance, local democracy, or civic engagement initiatives
• Strong field engagement and stakeholder management skills
• Evidence of achievements or successful project implementation in previous roles
