Information
Job Title: Manager – Leadership Search & Client Advisory
Location: US (NJ preferred) / Hybrid — flexible for the right person
Reports To: Principal / Managing Director
Seniority Level: Manager (with a clear path to Client Partner and beyond)
Experience Required: 6–10 years in Executive Search, Leadership Hiring, or Strategic Consulting
Sector Focus: Life Sciences, Pharma, and/or IT

The OpportunityThis is not a high-volume recruiter role. It is a senior advisory position for someone who has outgrown transactional search and wants to operate as a true strategic partner to the C-suite.
You will be trusted to lead complex, often confidential leadership mandates — Director through CXO level — from briefing to placement. You will own client relationships, challenge assumptions, and bring a point of view that clients cannot get from a database search. At the same time, you will have access to a proprietary leadership assessment toolkit that very few search professionals in the market can offer — giving you a genuine differentiation in every client conversation.
What You Will Do1. Client Engagement & Advisory• Act as a trusted advisor — not just a search vendor — to CEOs, CHROs, and founders on leadership strategy and talent acquisition
• Diagnose underlying business challenges and translate them into well-structured, well-scoped search mandates
• Facilitate strategic talent conversations: build vs buy vs promote, succession planning, and leadership team design
• Manage C-suite stakeholders with confidence, maturity, and a consultative presence that earns repeat business
• Lead end-to-end search mandates at Director, VP, SVP, and CXO level — from search strategy through offer acceptance
• Define target company universe, develop candidate mapping, and oversee research team briefings
• Conduct structured competency and leadership interviews; synthesise and present assessments to clients
• Manage candidate experience from first approach to close — high-touch, confidential, and consultative throughout
. 3. Business Development — Relationship-Led• Deepen and expand existing client relationships — identifying new opportunities within current accounts organically
• Participate in pitch discussions and proposals for new mandates alongside senior leadership
• Build your personal reputation in the Life Sciences and IT leadership talent market through thought leadership, networking, and consistent delivery

Communication & influence: Articulate, compelling in writing and in person. Closes candidates and clients equally.
Sector knowledge: Understands the leadership landscape in Life Sciences, Pharma, or IT Consulting.
Assessment literacy: Either has or is eager to develop fluency in leadership assessment frameworks.
Resilience & initiative: Self-managed. Owns outcomes. Doesn't wait to be told what the next step is.
RequirementsEssential• 6–10 years of experience in executive search, leadership hiring, or management consulting with talent exposure
• Strong track record of managing Director-to-CXO level searches or equivalent senior advisory engagements
