Job Description

Job Summary:

The Production Manager/Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily production operations, ensuring efficient use of resources, and maintaining high-quality standards in an FMCG manufacturing facility. The role involves managing production planning, cost control, manpower planning, resource allocation, and machinery maintenance to achieve production targets and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Execution:

·        Plan and schedule production activities to meet demand forecasts and optimise resource utilisation.

·        Ensure timely procurement of raw materials and manage inventory levels.

·        Monitor production processes and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime and maximise output.

2. Cost Control & Reporting:

·        Track and report production costs at each stage of production.

·        Analyse and optimize production costs to improve profitability.

·        Prepare and submit production reports to management.

3. Manpower Planning & Management:

·        Plan and manage the workforce to meet production requirements.

·        Ensure adequate training and development of production staff.

·        Monitor and improve labor productivity and efficiency.

4. Resource Allocation:

·        Optimize allocation of machinery, equipment, and materials.

·        Ensure effective utilization of resources to minimize waste and reduce costs.

5. Machinery Maintenance & Repairs:

·        Implement preventive maintenance schedules for machinery and equipment.

·        Ensure timely repairs and minimise downtime due to equipment failure.

6. Quality Control & Compliance:

·        Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.

·        Implement quality checks at various stages of production.

 7. Dispatch & Logistics:

·        Coordinate with logistics teams for the timely dispatch of finished goods.

·        Ensure compliance with dispatch procedures and documentation.

 Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering/Operations Management or related field.

·         5+ years of experience in production management in the FMCG industry.

·        Strong knowledge of production planning, cost control, and quality management.

·        Leadership and problem-solving skills.
