Job Description

We are looking for a thoughtful and highly skilled UX Designer with strong product thinking, systems thinking, and visual design capabilities. The ideal candidate should have experience designing scalable UI systems, shipped products, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to build impactful user experiences.

Key Requirements

Experience

• Bachelor’s in Design: 4-5 years of relevant experience (preferably 2021 pass out)
• Master’s in Design: 3-4 years of relevant experience (preferably 2022 pass out)
• Exceptional candidates with 2-3 years of experience may also be considered if they have delivered outstanding work
  
  

Portfolio Requirements

• Portfolio must include live / shipped / launched work
• Candidate should clearly mention their specific contribution to each project
• Portfolio should also highlight explored but discarded ideas to demonstrate design thinking and decision-making process
• We are especially interested in understanding why certain ideas were not taken forward
  
  

Technical and Functional Skillset

• Strong systems thinking with the ability to understand how one change impacts a broader interconnected product ecosystem
• Ability to use AI as a thinking partner, not just for generating outputs, but also for reviewing, critiquing, and improving AI-generated ideas
• Excellent visual design skills with strong understanding of design systems at scale
• Fintech experience is a plus, but candidates from other domains with fresh and diverse perspectives are also encouraged
• Should be someone who seeks ownership, and is motivated to work on high-impact, population-scale solutions, especially in the rural India context
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Design scalable UI components such as tables, dashboards, cards, and configurable product elements
• Build interfaces with configurable options that allow different users or customers to adapt functionality without rebuilding the core system
• Collaborate closely with the front-end engineering team to translate design systems into reusable product building blocks
• Contribute to product thinking, usability improvements, and scalable design decisions across the platform
  
  

Stakeholder Management and Reporting

• Work very closely with the Front-end Engineering team
• Official reporting line will be to the Head of Engineering
  
  

Interview Process

• Exploratory / Screening Round Focus on communication, clarity of thought, and storytelling ability
• Portfolio Review Round Detailed discussion with the design team and a product stakeholder
• Whiteboarding Session (1.5 hours) Candidates may be asked to use AI tools to generate a solution and then critically evaluate or improve it
• Cross-functional / Leadership Round Final discussion with leadership, such as the Head of Engineering or Founder
  
  

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be excited about building core product experiences, not just isolated features. They should enjoy working on scalable design systems, reusable patterns, and platform-level problems, with a strong balance of creativity, clarity, and practical execution.
