Title Procurement Specialist, Corporate Shared Services (CSS) Direct Procurement Operations

Generic Job description We are looking for a highly capable and execution-focused Procurement operations professional to manage and enhance our global Direct Procurement Operations.

This role is focused on Operational procurement activities: timely, accurate, and compliant execution of Procure to Pay focused responsibilities, Master data management along with Forecasting responsibilities, Supplier coordination, and Issue resolution. The ideal candidate will bring operational excellence, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to work closely with Global Procurement and cross-functional stakeholders to support execution of key P2P activities.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate maturity, ownership, and the ability to independently manage global stakeholders and suppliers.

He/she must also have extensive experience in SAP and will play a key part in driving efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.

Role will be based out of Bangalore but has global scope.

Tasks And Responsibilities Operational Excellence

• Manage the day-to-day Direct Procurement operations (Procure to Pay), including the complete Purchase order process for Raw materials
• Manage Supplier relationships and ensure timely resolution of procurement operations related queries and issues by proactively addressing stakeholder and supplier concerns, maintaining strong communication, and driving performance and reliability in raw material Procurement.
• Provide accurate and timely forecasts (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to suppliers to support production planning and ensure supply continuity.
• Oversee the end-to-end Raw material approval cycle in close alignment with Quality, Supplier, and Procurement teams to ensure timely onboarding and compliance
• Create and maintain supplier contracts, ensuring alignment with procurement strategy and operational needs.
• Drive on-time delivery, quality of goods, and effective follow-up service, ensuring supplier accountability and performance.
• Raw material creation and maintenance: Maintain high-quality material Master data and ensure accurate supplier forecasts and reporting
• Address Supplier Complaints related to delivery, quality, and quantity with minimal supervision.
• Invoice discrepancy handling: Responsible for handling the Invoice disputes and ensuring on- time payment in collaboration with Finance Team
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards
  
  

Process Improvement

• Drive “First Time Right” execution across P2P processes to minimize rework and delays.
• Work closely with internal teams such as Procurement, Quality, Finance and Suppliers to ensure seamless and effective Procurement operations
• Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline Direct procurement operations.
• Lead initiatives to drive process efficiencies, reduce cycle times, and improve overall process performance.
• Ensure Quality management in line with organizational guidelines and norms.
• Maintain and develop technical documentation and SOPs
  
  

Cross Functional Engagement, And Ad Hoc Assignments

• Serve as the Operational anchor and partner for Category managers
• Support/Consult with Category Managers on projects and responsibility for projects in accordance with aligned scope.
• Offer insights and recommendations on supplier selection, contract management, and risk mitigation.
• Supplier Performance Management involvement / evaluations
• Support Procurement during audits and resolving non-conformities.
• Purchasing Support, when needed.
  
  

Mentorship

• Mentor and guide junior procurement team members, providing support and development opportunities.
• Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement

Reporting lines Process Manager – Direct Procurement Operations

Education, Experience And Expertise Required Educational

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

Experience

A minimum of 10-12 years of experience in Direct (Raw Material) Procurement Operations, with at least 3 years in senior operations role managing suppliers and cross functional stakeholders. Prior experience in a global manufacturing procurement environment is strongly preferred.

Domain/Functional Knowledge

• End-to-End Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle understanding for Raw materials and Packaging categories.
• Proficiency in SAP ECC (MM module), with strong preference for candidates experienced in SAP S/4HANA.
• Forecasting and demand planning aligned with production schedules
• Strong reporting and data analytics skills with advanced proficiency in MS Excel
• Supplier onboarding and approval cycle management
• Invoice discrepancy resolution and collaboration with Finance
• Supplier Performance and relationship management skills
• Proficiency in working with Global set ups (especially European, American and Indian stakeholders and suppliers)
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Expertise in creating clear, compelling presentations using MS PowerPoint
  
  

Preferred

• Knowledge of Sourcing/Procurement and Quality systems
• Basic understanding of Accounting and Finance processes
• Ability/Aptitude to learn new digital tools to enhance ways of working.
• Good verbal and written English
• Exposure to/Experience in supporting cross functional projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
• Exemplary personal and professional integrity
• Business outcome focused and flexible (i.e., working in shifts)
• Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in the P2P space
