Job Description
The D. E. Shaw group is a global investment and technology development firm with more than $65 billion in investment capital as of March 1, 2025, and offices in North America, Europe, and Asia. Since our founding in 1988, our firm has earned an international reputation for successful investing based on innovation, careful risk management, and the quality and depth of our staff. We have a significant presence in the world's capital markets, investing in a wide range of companies and financial instruments in both developed and developing economies.
We are looking for an accomplished operator to partner with DESIS leadership and U.S. discretionary investing business units (BUs) to standardize ways of working, run cross-unit programs, and lead diverse projects. This role based out of the firm’s offices in Gurugram, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, blends program execution, people management, BU optimization, and learning & development, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders across our global offices. It requires a nimble individual capable of executing varying projects related to process institutionalization, people management, and best practices.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
In this role, you will act as the central liaison between our front office, the India-based Financial Research–Credit team, local support teams, and certain technology teams. You will be responsible for program-managing strategic priorities from the front office while providing support and direction to multiple teams. Your primary task is to institutionalize processes in a growing team alongside various line managers. This will involve designing and managing evolving workflow processes to streamline operations and ensure accountability so that critical tasks are completed correctly and on time; designing and maintaining detailed process documentation and tracking compliance across a large team; proactively identifying bottlenecks and implementing new solutions to improve efficiency and completeness; and implementing best practices while supporting the team with learning and development resources. The role will also involve contributing to broader strategic priorities, such as tracking and assessing the effectiveness of our Generative AI projects and facilitating the exchange of best practices across offices and groups to foster innovation and efficiency.
