Portfolio Analyst

Job Purpose

The Portfolio Analytics team ensures a high‑quality lending portfolio with a large focus on acquisition. The role is central to maintaining the organisation’s risk at optimal levels while enabling business teams to grow Assets Under Management (AUM) without compromising portfolio quality. The function is highly data‑driven—focused on diagnosing risk and business challenges, proposing analytical solutions, and aligning strategies with the company’s Annual Operating Plan (AOP) to optimise both risk and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Monitoring & Insights

• Track and evaluate portfolio performance across risk, credit, and business dimensions through deep‑dive cuts and analytical dashboards.
• Generate proactive insights beyond standard MIS to detect emerging trends, opportunities, and risks.

Diagnostics & Problem Solving

• Conduct root‑cause analyses for positive or adverse portfolio movements.
• Deliver clear, actionable insights to improve acquisition quality, portfolio health, and business outcomes.

Strategy Development

• Identify high‑value segments and cohorts to refine credit policies, enhance underwriting strategies, or support scorecard development.
• Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across Risk, Credit, and Business to develop robust, data‑backed solution strategies.

Process Improvement

• Continuously assess and optimise existing analytics workflows and cross‑functional processes.
• Improve operational efficiency while supporting scalability and cost optimisation for internal teams.
