Education: BE / BTech Mechanical

Experience: 15 to 20 years in Project Engineering background

Position Overview:

The Piping Manager is responsible for leading the design, engineering, planning, and execution of piping systems for petrochemical and process plant projects. The role ensures technical excellence, adherence to industry codes, and seamless project delivery while managing a team of piping engineers and designers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Develop and manage piping project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for seamless system integration.
• Oversee design, procurement, fabrication, and installation of piping systems.

2. Design & Engineering

• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASME, ANSI, ASTM, and API.
• Review and approve P&IDs, isometric drawings, and material specifications.
• Conduct and participate in 3D model reviews and ensure accurate piping layouts.
• Support stress analysis, material selection, and engineering calculations.

3. Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of piping engineers, designers, and drafters.
• Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and provide technical guidance.
• Conduct performance reviews and support professional development.

4. Quality & Safety Assurance

• Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures in piping design and installation.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and project protocols.
• Conduct periodic site inspections and audits.

5. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

• Liaise with vendors for procurement of piping materials and equipment.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders for project alignment.
• Manage change orders, deviations, and updates to project scope.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain all engineering documentation, technical reports, and as-built drawings.
• Present progress updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Ensure complete documentation for all project phases.

• 3D Modelling Tools: PDMS / E3D / SP3D
• Software: AutoCAD, Caesar II, CADWorx
• Strong knowledge of ASME, ANSI, API, ASTM
• Project Management & Scheduling
• Experience with hazardous material piping design
