Role Description

We are looking for motivated Ph.D. scholars to join our research group in the Department of Electrical Engineering, NSUT.

The research focuses on power system dynamics and control, frequency regulation of low-inertia power systems, smart grids, Building-to-Grid (B2G) integration, demand response using thermostatically controlled loads (TCLs), renewable energy integration, and grid flexibility through distributed energy resources.

The selected scholar will be involved in:

  • Mathematical modelling and simulation of modern power systems.
  • Development of advanced control and optimization algorithms.
  • Analysis of renewable-rich and low-inertia power systems.
  • MATLAB/Simulink-based modelling and validation.
  • Preparation of high-quality journal publications and conference papers.
  • Collaboration on sponsored research projects and interdisciplinary research activities.
Qualifications
  • M.Tech./M.E. (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, preferably with specialization in Power Systems, Control Systems, Power Electronics, or Renewable Energy.
  • Strong background in power system analysis, control theory, and mathematical modelling.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink (knowledge of PSCAD, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or Python is desirable).
  • Good programming and analytical skills.
  • Strong academic writing and communication skills.
  • Prior research experience, publications, or conference presentations will be an added advantage.

FELLOWSHIP: URF - ₹46,000/- p.m. / TRF - ₹60,000/- p.m.
