PGT Biology Teacher

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging biology lessons for classes XI and XII, aligning with the CBSE/State curriculum.
• Develop and update teaching materials, laboratory manuals, and visual aids to enhance student understanding.
• Conduct practical laboratory sessions, ensuring safety protocols and proper use of equipment.
• Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, mid‑terms, and board examinations, providing timely feedback.
• Identify and support students requiring additional help, offering remedial classes or one‑on‑one tutoring as needed.
• Participate actively in faculty meetings, curriculum development workshops, and professional development programs.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities such as science fairs, biology Olympiads, and environmental awareness programs.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress reports.
• Uphold the institute’s academic policies, code of conduct, and promote a culture of integrity and curiosity.

Essential Qualifications

• Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Botany, Zoology, or a related biological science from a recognized university.
• National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification or equivalent eligibility for teaching at the senior secondary level.
• Valid teaching certification (e.g., B.Ed.) is preferred.
• Strong foundational knowledge of biology subjects, including genetics, ecology, physiology, and biotechnology.
• Excellent command of English and Hindi (both written and spoken).

Desired Experience

• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level (Classes XI‑XII) in a reputable school or coaching institute.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct laboratory experiments and manage a well‑equipped biology lab.
• Experience with modern teaching aids, digital platforms, and online learning tools is an advantage.
• Track record of achieving good academic results in board examinations.
