compliance related to Mineral Conservation/ Environment Management and adhering to safety

Job Context & Major Challenges

Aditya Cement is one of the best capacity utilised cement plants with an installed capacity to produce 1.75 million tpa with captive power plant of 25 MW and owns mines. It manufacturers a wide range of premium brand of cement and enjoys a reputation of giving value for money. It is one of the most modern cement plants in the country. The technical know how and main equipment has been obtained from M/s. Krupp Polysious, Germany. The unit is coming up with another state of the art Cement Plant of 8000 TPD. The organisation achieved Quality System ISO-9002 in the year 1997, ISO 14001 in 1998 and through its continual improvement in the Quality Systems the organisation elevat ed to IQRS Level-5 in the year 2000. The unit has been awarded TPM excellency Award in the year 2001 by JIPM, Tokyo for its all round improvement. Major Challenges: Deposit consists of limestone bands, whose quality varies in a vary wide range i.e.from 70 LSF to 160 LSF and plant requirement varies between { (100-120) 0.50} LSF. The

capacity of cement plant has increased to 5000 TPD from it's designed capacity of 3300 TPD. To

run at higher capacity, p lant requires limestone of consistent quality with minimum standard

deviation. The deposit has uneven distribution of overburden/waste rock, which needs a

systematic approach/planning for their advance removal to ensure access to limestone.

KRA1 Creating a" safety" culture in the

KRA2 Mine Planning Preparation of long

term as well as short term planning to

ensure limestone of required quality

and quantity for smooth running of

plant consistently. Preparation of long term planning (5 year as well as 1

year) to facilitate land acquisition as well as

developmental work like overburden waste rock removal,

preparation of dumping sites, shifting of roads, electric

lines, etc. in advance. Short term planning i.e. quarterly

as well as monthly planning to facilitate availability of

limestone for all the seasons i.e. dry season and rainy

season as well as to meet quality consistency with

minimum standard deviation in preparation of limestone

stock piles for plant.To assist in decision regarding

expansion of existing project.Planing with the help of

Datmine Mining software.

KRA3 Statutory Compliance To fulfill

statutory requirements of Indian

Bureau of Mines (IBM), Ministry of

Environment & Forest (MOEF),

Directorate of Mining & Geology (DMG).RSPCB,CPCB.CGWA and

ground water board of Rajasthan.

Revenue Department. etc. Preparation, submission and follow up action of Mining

Plan & Mining Scheme as per Mineral Conservation &

Development Rule, 1988.Fulfilling requirements of MOEF

for environment clearance as per Environment Protection

(EP) Act, 1986.To monitor and coordinate for compliance of conditions of Mining Plan/Mining Scheme, EIA/EMP,

etc.Assistance in survey work alongwith Surveyor.

Preparation of plans and sections as per MMR, 1961 &

MCDR, 1988.Records as per statutory requirements.

Timely submission of returns and informations to IBM,

DMG, MOEF, etc.Filing of Prospecting Lease and Mining

Lease application.Liasioning with above Government

departments.Fulfillment of compliance of the all the govt

agency like CGWA/CGWB,DMG, RSPCB, CPCB.

Monitoring of all the environment related data.

KRA4 Mine planning for meeting Limestone

requirement of plant To have information on quality requirement of plant by

constant touch with Quality Control deptt. and Process

deptt.Daily production planning for fulfilling quality

requirement of limestone stock pile in consultation with

DH (Mines) Monitoring and coordinating with mines

production crew for quality consistency.Daily monitoring

of limestone stock at plant.Sampling of screen Reject,

drillcutting sample and updation of quality map regularly.

Regularly providing feedback to shiftIncharge about

facewise quality.Study of borehole data, geological plan &

sections for ensuring mineral of desired quality & quantity.

In case of requirement, plan for drilling for confirmation.

Identification of faces & preparing plans for Limestone of

required quantity and quality

KRA5 Monitoring Pile quality & quantity.

Sap daily production entry. Collection of quantity and quality data updation of data,

feedback to shift incharge,Cordination with QC and

maintaining benchwise record regularly.Sap daily

production entry/ checking regularly.

KRA6 Accountability - Mineral inventory To

evaluate the deposit for proper

mineral inventory for long term and

short term planning. Planning and execution of geological exploration work like

topographical and geological mapping, drilling, sampling

and preparation of geological & drillhole database.

Reserve estimation with the help of above mentioned

database to find out mineral reserve alongwith the waste

rock to be handled for winning them. Advanced drilling

and sampling at closer spacing for area selected for short

term planning to minimise variation. .

KRA7 Implementation of various

management systemsEnsure

effective implementation of various

Management Systems (ISO9001

2000, ISO14001, OHSAS18001,

systems.Work as an internal auditor for various systems

as well as waste rock handling. To improve mine working by suitable orientation of

working faces as per geological condition. By optimization

of waste rock removal. Optimisation of lead and lift by

proper planning.

KRA9 Mineral Conservation & Environment

Protection : Ensure mineral conservation and environment

protection by adopting suitable

methods/techniques To plan consumption of low grade mineral by their

suitable blending and screening. Separate stacking of unused low grade mineral for their future consumption.

Plan for minimum land degradation due to mining in the

area.Assist FH/DH.
