⚡ Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled PCB Designer / Layout Engineer with experience in 48V electronics to support the development of Battery Management Systems (BMS) for EV applications. The role involves executing high-reliability PCB layouts with strong focus on EMI/EMC compliance, power integrity, thermal management, and automotive-grade design practices.

🎯 What You Will Do

• Execute complete PCB layout design for 48V BMS boards including control, sensing, and power sections.
• Perform component placement and routing with strong EMI/EMC discipline, proper grounding strategy, return path control, and noise isolation.
• Design with attention to creepage and clearance requirements for 48V automotive applications.
• Implement robust power and thermal routing strategies for high-current paths and heat dissipation.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize schematics for layout efficiency and manufacturability.
• Generate fabrication outputs including Gerber/ODB++, drill files, pick-and-place files, assembly drawings, and fabrication notes.
• Ensure adherence to DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Testability) guidelines.
• Maintain and manage component libraries, symbols, and footprint creation as per IPC standards.
• Support fast ECO (Engineering Change Order) implementation and version control.
• Work closely with PCB fabricators and assembly vendors to resolve layout and production issues.
• Conduct design reviews focusing on signal integrity, power integrity, and automotive reliability.
• Support prototype builds, bring-up activities, and debugging from PCB layout perspective.
  
  

✅ What We’re Looking For

• 3–6 years of hands-on experience in PCB layout design for power electronics or automotive applications.
• Experience in designing 48V systems or similar power-domain electronics.
• Strong understanding of EMI/EMC principles, grounding techniques, and return path management.
• Knowledge of creepage/clearance standards relevant to automotive and EV applications.
• Experience in multi-layer PCB design (4/6/8+ layers) with controlled impedance routing.
• Familiarity with BMS architecture including cell monitoring ICs, current sensing, balancing circuits, and protection circuits.
• Proficiency in PCB design tools such as Altium Designer / Allegro / OrCAD / equivalent.
• Good understanding of IPC standards and automotive quality practices.
• Ability to generate complete manufacturing documentation independently.
• Strong coordination skills to work with cross-functional teams (hardware, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing).
  
  

Good To Have

• Experience working on EV Battery Management Systems (BMS).
• Exposure to automotive standards such as ISO 26262, IPC-2221/2222, and IPC-7351.
• Knowledge of high-current busbar integration and battery pack mechanical constraints.
• Basic understanding of signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis tools.
• Experience in handling HDI boards, differential pair routing, and impedance-controlled designs.
• Prior experience working with automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
