About the opportunity

The Payroll Specialist owns Aramya's monthly payroll cycle end-to-end — accuracy, compliance, timeliness — for every employee, every month.

The standard here is 'zero errors, on time,' not 'mostly right.' You'll run the full payroll process, keep us clean across Indian statutes (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus Act), and be the person every employee talks to when there's a question about their salary.

Key responsibilities

Payroll Processing & Data

  • Process end-to-end monthly payroll — attendance, leave, overtime, incentives, deductions.
  • Maintain the payroll master — joiners, exits, salary revisions, transfers, and promotions.
  • Disburse salaries, full and final settlements, and reimbursements on time; liaise with banks on disbursement files.
  • Handle employee queries on salary, tax deductions, payslips, and Form 16

Statutory Compliance.

  • Manage EPF, ESI, Professional Tax, LWF, Gratuity, and Bonus Act — timely remittances and return filings.
  • Compute and reconcile TDS on salaries; coordinate with Finance on Form 16, quarterly TDS returns, and year-end computations.
  • Stay current on labour law and tax regulation changes; adapt processes accordingly.

Reporting, Systems & Governance

  • Prepare payroll MIS, headcount cost reports, salary registers, and variance analysis.
  • Support internal and statutory audits with clean reconciliations and documentation.
  • Coordinate with HRMS and payroll software vendors on system updates, data integrity, and process automation.
  • Uphold internal controls, data confidentiality, and payroll governance.

Key Sills and Qualifications

  • 3-6 years running payroll for a mid-to-large workforce (500+ employees).
  • B.Com / BBA / HR / related degree; MBA or PGDM (HR or Finance) preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Indian payroll statutes — PF, ESI, PT, TDS, LWF, Gratuity, and Bonus Act.
  • Hands-on with payroll or HRMS software — Keka, Darwinbox, GreytHR, SAP, ADP, or similar.
  • Advanced Excel — VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and formulas for reconciliation and reporting.
  • Attention to detail under strict monthly deadlines — payroll doesn't have small mistakes.
  • Integrity in handling sensitive employee data — non-negotiable.
  • Bonus: experience handling payroll for a workforce of 1,000+ employees.
