About The Role

EDMO is looking for a detail-oriented Academic Operations Executive – OCR Process to support its AI-driven Document Intelligence platform.

This role focuses on validating, and structuring data from academic documents(transcripts, mark sheets, certificates) extracted using OCR technology. The candidate will ensure high accuracy of extracted data, resolve discrepancies, and support downstream processes like transfer credit evaluation and admissions review.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and validate OCR-extracted data from academic documents such as transcripts, mark sheets, and certificates.
  • Ensure accurate extraction of key fields including course names, grades, credits, course code, and institutional details.
  • Identify and correct OCR errors such as misreads, formatting issues, or missing information.
  • Perform manual data entry where OCR confidence is low or data is incomplete.
  • Standardize extracted data into structured formats as per system requirements.
  • Handle multiple document formats including scanned PDFs, images, and multi-page transcripts.
  • Flag inconsistencies, illegible data, or document quality issues for further review.
  • Collaborate with AI/Product teams to improve OCR accuracy and data extraction models.
  • Maintain quality benchmarks, turnaround time (TAT), and audit logs for processed documents.
  • Support downstream teams (TCE, admissions, evaluation teams) by ensuring clean and reliable data output.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline (Education, Science, or related fields preferred).
  • 0–1 year of experience in OCR processing, data verification, document processing, or back-office operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors in scanned or digitized documents.
  • Familiarity with academic documents such as transcripts, mark sheets, and grading systems.
  • Good understanding of data entry standards and quality control processes.
  • Basic knowledge of tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or document management systems.
  • Ability to work in night shifts and handle high-volume processing tasks.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with OCR tools or platforms (e.g., Tesseract, ABBYY, or similar technologies).
  • Exposure to EdTech workflows, admissions processing, or credential evaluation.
  • Understanding of international grading systems or credit frameworks.
  • Experience working with AI/ML-based document processing systems.
