Deuce & Smash is a state-of-the-art pickleball and padel club in Pune, built to create a vibrant, high-energy sporting and social ecosystem. We aim to go beyond just courts — we’re building a community where sport, lifestyle, and connections come together.
Role Overview
We are looking for a dynamic, hands-on Operations & Community Manager who will own the day-to-day functioning of the club while also driving community engagement, events, and partnerships.
This role sits at the intersection of operations, customer experience, and community building — ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, people-centric environments and has a passion for sports.
Key Responsibilities
1. Club Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations of the club including court scheduling, bookings, and customer flow
- Ensure seamless on-ground experience for members and guests
- Manage staff (coaches, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance)
- Maintain facility standards, cleanliness, and equipment upkeep
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers
- Handle basic reporting: utilization, revenue tracking, and operational metrics
2. Community Building & Engagement
- Build and manage the Deuce & Smash community ecosystem
- Create and actively engage WhatsApp groups / digital communities
- Develop relationships with regular players and members
- Drive member retention and loyalty initiatives
- Be the “face of the club” — highly visible and approachable
3. Events & Programming
- Conceptualize and execute:
- Social mixers
- Weekly leagues
- Beginner sessions
- Corporate events
- Themed play nights
- Plan and run in-house tournaments (pickleball & padel)
- Collaborate with external tournament organizers and leagues
- Ensure events are well-attended, smoothly executed, and commercially viable
4. Corporate & Partnership Development
- Identify and reach out to corporates for events, memberships, and partnerships
- Build relationships with:
- HR teams
- Corporate wellness programs
- Event agencies
- Generate leads for bookings, tournaments, and bulk events
5. Customer Experience & Sales Support
- Actively interact with walk-ins and members
- Assist in converting first-time visitors into regular players
- Handle queries, feedback, and issue resolution
- Support membership sales and upselling initiatives
6. Marketing & Content Support (On-ground)
- Work with the marketing team to:
- Capture content during events and matches
- Share ideas for social media engagement
- Promote upcoming events and activities within the community
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
- 2–5 years in:
- Sports club / gym / fitness center operations
- Community management
- Hospitality or experience-driven businesses
- Experience in event execution and customer-facing roles is a must
Skills & Traits
