Job Description

The MRO Buyer manages procurement activities across various departments, ensuring optimal cost-effectiveness, timely delivery, and compliance with quality standards. This role requires effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.

Primary Responsibilities:

Procurement Planning

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand procurement requirements, including inventory needs, production schedules, and quality standards. Ensure planning covers MRO materials and office supplies needs.

Order Management

  • Place purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials and services, coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve any issues or delays.

Supplier Management

  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, including delivery performance, quality control, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Conduct regular supplier reviews and evaluations.
  • Seek opportunities for supplier development and improvement.

Record-Keeping

  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information, according to company policies and procedures.

Inventory Management

  • Collaborate with the planning team to forecast demand, ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained, considering lead times and production schedules.

Cost Optimization

  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures and process improvements.
  • Explore opportunities for supplier consolidation.

Reporting

  • Generate reports and analyses on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements:

Skills And Competencies

  • min. 5 years of proven experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with supply chain principles, inventory management, and demand forecasting is desirable.

Experience & Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering is an added advantage.
  • Practical experience in MRO and Office Supplies procurement.
  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management.
