Mold Designer

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mold Designer role based in Pune District. The Mold Designer will be responsible for designing plastic injection molds and tooling, including multi-cavity and high-precision tools, in close collaboration with design, tooling, and manufacturing teams. Daily tasks include interpreting customer part models and drawings, developing 2D/3D mold designs, selecting appropriate mold components, and ensuring designs meet tooling standards and manufacturing requirements. The role involves performing design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews, optimizing mold layouts for cycle time and quality, and coordinating with machining and assembly teams to resolve technical issues. The Mold Designer will also support mold trials, implement engineering changes, maintain design documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement in tooling design processes.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Mold Design and Injection Molding, including experience with plastic parts and multi-cavity tools.
• Proficiency in Tooling Design and Design Engineering, with the ability to translate customer requirements into robust, manufacturable mold solutions.
• Hands-on experience working with molds in a production or tooling environment, including troubleshooting and design modifications.
• Skilled in 2D/3D CAD (such as NX, ) and familiarity with mold standards, materials, and components.
• Understanding of DFM, GD&T, tolerancing, and basic mold flow or simulation concepts is highly beneficial.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on-site.
• Experience in medical, automotive, aerospace, or electronics tooling environments is an advantage.
