Role Overview

The Mobile Field Test Engineer will support validation and performance testing of mobile network technologies including 4G and 5G. The role involves conducting field testing activities, analyzing network performance, and assisting in system and software requirement validation for mobile devices and telecom networks.

The position requires strong analytical capability, understanding of telecom technologies, and hands-on exposure to mobile device testing and drive testing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Perform mobile network field testing for 4G / 5G technologies using industry-standard testing tools.
Support drive testing activities to evaluate network coverage, throughput, and performance metrics.
Assist in deriving system and software requirements based on testing observations and validation results.
Execute mobile device testing to validate functionality, connectivity, and performance under real network conditions.
Collect and analyze field test logs to identify network issues, performance degradation, and anomalies.
Work with internal engineering teams to reproduce and troubleshoot network or device related issues.
Support network performance benchmarking and validation activities.
Document test results, issue logs, and field validation reports.
Participate in testing procedures related to call performance, handovers, data throughput, and latency validation.
Follow structured testing methodologies and ensure accurate reporting of results.

Required Technical Skills

Basic understanding of 4G LTE and 5G NR technologies
Familiarity with mobile network architecture and protocols
Exposure to drive testing and field validation processes
Experience with mobile device testing and troubleshooting
Understanding of network performance metrics (RSRP, SINR, throughput, latency)
Ability to analyze test logs and performance data
Familiarity with telecom testing tools used in field testing environments
Knowledge of system and software requirement derivation for telecom validation
Basic scripting or data analysis capability is an added advantage
Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering
2–4 years of experience in telecom field testing or mobile device testing
Basic knowledge of mobile communication technologies and testing procedures
Willingness to work in field testing environments and support validation activities
