Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Metallurgist role based in Gujarat, India. The Metallurgist will oversee metallurgical aspects of forging and heat treatment processes, ensuring materials meet mechanical and performance requirements for automotive components. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring process parameters, analyzing test results, supporting root-cause analysis of material or component failures, and recommending corrective actions. The role involves collaborating with production, quality, and maintenance teams to optimize metallurgical processes, reduce defects, and improve product consistency. The Metallurgist will also document metallurgical procedures, maintain records, and support compliance with customer and industry specifications.
Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Metallurgy and Extractive Metallurgy, with the ability to apply metallurgical principles to forging and heat treatment operations.
  • Experience in Process Control for metallurgical and manufacturing processes, including monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting of critical parameters.
  • Proficiency in Failure Analysis, including investigation of material defects, component failures, and root-cause determination.
  • Understanding of Leaching and related extraction or refining techniques where applicable to material processing.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
  • Familiarity with mechanical testing, microstructure evaluation, and use of metallurgical laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards relevant to automotive components.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a production environment.
