Work Location:* Royapettah, Chennai
Experience:* 20-25 years
Salary:* Rs. 90,000 - Rs. 1,00,000 per month

Job Description

As a Merchandising Manager, you'll be a key player in ensuring the success and profitability of our woven garments. You'll be responsible for leading the entire merchandising process, from concept to delivery, ensuring our products meet market demands and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

*Strategic Leadership:* Develop and implement merchandising strategies aligned with company goals, driving sales growth, improving profitability, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
*Product Development & Sourcing:*
Oversee the product development process from initial concept, vendor negotiation, and product sourcing.
Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to develop creative and innovative samples based on market trends and buyer requirements.
Manage and approve fabric, trim, and accessory sourcing, ensuring timely in-house delivery with good quality and quantities.
Ensure all product details, from sample development to lab testing, cutting, washing, and finishing, meet required standards.
*Order Management & Execution:*
Lead and supervise the merchandising team's activities throughout the entire order process, ensuring customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.
Conduct garments costing, negotiate with foreign buyers and local agents, and confirm orders in terms of price, quality, and lead time.
Work with factories to create and execute Time & Action Plans for loaded garment orders, tracking development and production issues.
Monitor daily production status, fabric and trim inventory, and support the factory for smooth production.
*Market Analysis & Sales Optimization:*
Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer behavior to optimize product assortment, inventory levels, and plan ranges.
Develop and present merchandising and promotional programs to align with marketing and sales strategies.
Conduct regular store visits (if applicable) to assess and improve merchandising practices and ensure product placement.
*Team Leadership & Development:* Lead, mentor, and manage a team of merchandising associates, setting clear objectives and fostering effective performance.
*Reporting & Communication:* Prepare detailed reports on merchandising performance, providing data-driven recommendations and communicating updates to stakeholders.
*Quality Assurance:* Work closely with QA for timely inspection and delivery, managing any complaints or deviations from quality standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in a senior merchandising role within the woven garments manufacturing industry.
Strong understanding of the entire production process, including woven fabric (denim and non-denim) and wash processes.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Ability to face challenging situations and solve problems effectively.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to interpret sales data and market trends.
Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
