Role Description The mechanical maintenance fitter cum welder will perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, machinery, and production lines to ensure safe and efficient operation. This full-time, on-site role in Rajkot includes diagnosing mechanical issues, replacing or repairing components, and conducting inspections to minimize downtime. The role involves welding and fabrication tasks such as cutting, joining, and repairing metal structures and parts according to technical drawings and safety standards. The fitter will collaborate with engineers and supervisors, maintain accurate maintenance records, and follow company safety procedures and quality guidelines. The position may also require basic use of tools and equipment, support for installation of new machinery, and coordination with other maintenance team members.
Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical maintenance and repair skills, including hands-on experience with industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles applied in manufacturing or metals/mining operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and basic Computer-Aided Design (CAD) layouts for fabrication and fitting work.
  • Experience in inspection of mechanical components and systems to identify wear, defects, and safety issues.
  • Familiarity with automotive or similar heavy mechanical systems is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in welding (e.g., arc, MIG, or TIG), cutting, and fabrication with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Understanding of industrial safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work on-site in an industrial environment, manage physical tasks, and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Relevant technical qualification or trade certification in mechanical fitting, welding, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a metals, mining, or manufacturing facility is beneficial.
