Mechanical Engineer designs, develops, builds, and tests mechanical and thermal devices, ranging from robotics and machinery to consumer products. They are responsible for taking projects from initial concept through prototyping and testing to final manufacturing, utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software and applying principles of mechanics and thermodynamics.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development: Drive the full lifecycle of a product, including conceptualization, prototype design, and detailed manufacturing planning.Design & Analysis: Create 3D models, 2D technical drawings, and perform simulations using CAD and FEA software to ensure structural and thermal integrity.Testing & Evaluation: Conduct experiments, evaluate prototype performance, and analyze data to troubleshoot and refine designs for maximum efficiency and safety.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside electrical engineers, software developers, material scientists, and procurement teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.Documentation & Compliance: Estimate budgets, write technical manuals for operators, and ensure all products comply with industry regulations.Essential RequirementsEducation: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline. (Master's or a Professional Engineer/PE license may be preferred depending on the jurisdiction and industry).Technical Skills: Proficiency in 2D/3D design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA) and a deep understanding of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science.Problem-Solving: Advanced mathematical skills (calculus, physics, statistics) and the critical thinking required to formulate innovative solutions to complex mechanical problems
