Job Summary
The Steel Fabrication Floor Engineer will be responsible for supervising day-to-day fabrication activities on the shop floor, ensuring work is carried out as per approved drawings, quality standards, and production schedules.

The Steel Fabrication Floor Engineer will be responsible for supervising day-to-day fabrication activities on the shop floor, ensuring work is carried out as per approved drawings, quality standards, and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate shop floor steel fabrication activities including cutting, fitting, welding, drilling, and assembly.
- Study and interpret fabrication and GA drawings and ensure execution as per drawings.
- Coordinate with detailers, production team, and QA/QC to resolve drawing or fabrication issues.
- Monitor manpower deployment, productivity, and daily work progress.
- Ensure fabrication is carried out as per quality standards, WPS, and safety norms.
- Identify and report material shortages, deviations, and rework issues.
- Maintain daily production reports and update project status to seniors.
- Coordinate with stores for raw material issue and traceability.
- Support inspection activities with client / third-party inspectors.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safety compliance on the shop floor.
- BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Knowledge of steel fabrication processes and workshop practices
- 1–5 years of experience in steel fabrication / structural fabrication workshop
- Freshers with strong fabrication knowledge may also apply (if applicable)
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication drawings and symbols
- Knowledge of welding processes, fit-up, and fabrication sequences
- Basic knowledge of QA/QC and safety practices
- Good coordination and communication skills
- Ability to work in shop floor / workshop environment
