We’re looking for a Marine Mechanical Engineer to design and develop dredging components and systems for our dredgers. You’ll use CAD software to create, test, and improve these designs, while also contributing to vessel-level engineering such as pontoon design and dredger stability.


Location: Surat, India


Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical components for dredging equipment.
  • Create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using CAD software.
  • Perform stability calculations for dredgers as per classification society rules.
  • Develop pontoon designs in compliance with classification standards.
  • Produce detailed schematics for fuel, freshwater, bilge, sewage, deck machinery, and fire-fighting systems.
  • Test and analyze designs to meet safety, regulatory, and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project requirements.
  • Identify and resolve design issues and support manufacturing and installation.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, classification rules, and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design of ship or dredging components.
  • Experience with dredger stability calculations and pontoon design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and marine engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with classification society rules (ABS, DNV, BV, IRS).
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Must be available to work from Surat, India.
