Marine Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a competent Marine Engineer to oversee the installation, testing, and maintenance of marine machinery and systems in shipbuilding projects. The candidate will ensure all onboard mechanical and propulsion systems meet design specifications, safety standards, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise installation and commissioning of main engines, auxiliary engines, pumps, compressors, and propulsion systems.
Review and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and engineering specifications.
Coordinate with naval architects, mechanical, and electrical teams for system integration.
Ensure compliance with classification societies such as ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register, and statutory regulations.
Conduct system inspections, trials, and performance testing during vessel construction and delivery stages.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to marine machinery.
Monitor quality control and ensure adherence to project timelines.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and maintenance manuals.
Assist in dry docking, repair, and retrofit projects when required.
Required Qualifications:
B.Tech / B.E. in Marine Engineering
Certificate of Competency (CoC) is an added advantage
1–5 years of experience in shipbuilding / ship repair / marine operations
Freshers with marine internship or sailing experience may also be considered
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of marine engines and shipboard systems
Familiarity with international maritime regulations and standards
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Willingness to work in shipyard/site conditions
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in shipyards or offshore marine projects
Knowledge of automation systems and engine control systems
Exposure to ERP or shipbuilding project management tools.
