Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Electrical Refit Oversight
- Coordinate and supervise the complete electrical scope of refit projects on defense vessels, ensuring execution aligns with technical specifications, naval standards, and project timelines.
System-Level Planning & Execution
- Manage refit activities across all onboard electrical systems including power generation & distribution, lighting systems, control panels, navigation systems, communication systems, and auxiliary electrical equipment.
Drawings, Documentation & Compliance
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, load charts, and technical documentation. Ensure all work complies with classification society rules and defense regulatory standards.
Inter-Departmental Coordination
- Act as the central point between electrical teams, mechanical teams, OEMs, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems during refit.
Safety, PPE & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to PPE requirements and enforce safety protocols across all electrical activities onboard. Maintain compliance with shipyard safety standards, naval regulations, and statutory guidelines throughout project execution.
Fire, Safety & Emergency Preparedness
- Oversee implementation and readiness of fire safety systems including ASA (Air Supplying Apparatus) and FFA (Fire Fighting Appliances). Ensure all Electrical work aligns with fire safety norms and does not compromise onboard emergency systems
Client & Stakeholder coordination
- Maintain continuous coordination with client representatives to ensure alignment on scope, execution progress, and technical clarifications. Address client concerns promptly and professionally
Reporting & Communication
- Provide regular updates to senior management at Maya Marine & Logistics regarding project progress, risks, and deviations. Maintain clear communication channels between management, clients and class authorities.
Classification Society Coordination
- Liaise with classification societies for inspection, approvals, and certifications. Ensure all electrical installations and modifications meet class requirements and documentation standards
