Job Description

Role Purpose

The role entails acting as an Analyst supporting the assigned Line of Business (LoB) and Partnering with functional Finance leads enabling them to prioritise understanding of all the financials including actual, forecast and budget. The role requires a good commercial outlook to facilitate understanding of the drivers behind cost centre numbers and to challenge where necessary. Additionally, this role will involve producing monthly reports and financials. This role entails extensive global vendor management, financial tracking, and processing of a significant number of invoices and SOWs.

The key contacts for the role are the D&T Finance Director, Senior Director and Finance business partners based predominately in the US.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and production of month end reporting packs for Finance Partner and Business reviews.
  • Publish monthly reporting and other financial KPI’s.
  • Review monthly department and project budget reports to maintain expense controls. Prepare commentary and explanation of variances for management review.
  • Respond to and resolve complex issues and requests from management teams and clients regarding various accounting issues and reports
  • Recognize potential issues and conflicts and take corrective action to minimize issues.
  • Facilitate the maintenance and reporting of benchmarks and performance metrics.
  • Passing journal entry in Peoplesoft for invoices generated during the period.
  • Management of cost sheet and purchase order tracking.
  • Vendor management and creation/tracking of SOWs & processing of invoices and SOWs on time
  • Regular updating of forecast vs actuals and complete monthly data reconciliations.
  • Create PO's in Coupa and follow through to approval
  • Updating labour allocations and workflows as required.
  • Facilitating ICO, RTR and P2P processes as needed
  • Track and manage invoices against relevant PO's
  • Provide ad-hoc support to Finance as required.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for key systems like PeopleSoft, Coupa, ServiceNow, etc. Provide support or training to teams as needed.

Person Specification/Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a variety of stakeholders, including both writing and delivering presentations.
  • People management skills, including being able to work part of a close-knit team and manage upwards
  • Ability to work under time pressure and multitask.
  • Have an eye for detail yet remain focused on big picture.
  • Strong spreadsheet and financial systems skills
  • Accountancy Qualification and/or experience ACCA/CIMA/ACA (desirable)
