Job Summary

The Facility Maintenance Technician at Jabil, Inc. is responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks to ensure the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of the company's facilities and equipment. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe, efficient, and comfortable working environment for all employees.

Job Responsibilities

Perform routine preventative maintenance on facility systems and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with facility infrastructure, machinery, and production equipment.
Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components, parts, and systems, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company standards.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify potential hazards, maintenance needs, and opportunities for improvement.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, prioritizing and resolving issues efficiently to minimize disruption.
Assist with the installation, relocation, and assembly of new equipment and machinery.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and inventory of parts and supplies.
Collaborate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or projects, ensuring quality and timely completion.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, confined space entry, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including maintenance shops and equipment storage.
May assist with general building maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, and minor construction.

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification or vocational training in a related field (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) is highly preferred.
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related industrial maintenance role.
Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices in an industrial environment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Basic computer skills for work order systems and communication.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in various physical positions, including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts, as needed.
