Logistics Manager

Hiring for Shipping & Logistics for leading steel industry.

Location: Vizag

Experience: 8 to 15 years

Qualification: Graduate in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field; PG in Supply Chain/Operations Management preferred

Must have experience in logistics/shipping in steel or heavy manufacturing industries. Inventory and warehouse management skills, knowledge of transport and tax regulations, Proficiency in ERP/TMS/WMS (e.g., SAP logistics modules), Cost management, Analytical & Problem Solving.

Responsibilities:

▪ Plan and execute daily/weekly dispatch schedules in coordination with production, marketing/sales, PPC, stores, and quality to meet customer delivery commitments and OTIF targets

▪ Manage transport and shipping operations: truck/rail/port movements, containerization, route planning, vehicle placement, loading supervision, and documentation.

▪ Oversee yard/warehouse operations: stacking of finished goods, identification and traceability, FIFO/FEFO, prevention of mix-ups, and minimizing handling damage.

▪ Monitor and control logistics costs (freight, demurrage, detention, handling charges), drive cost reduction initiatives, and track cost per ton dispatched.

▪ Custom Import and Export documentation.
