Logistics Manager

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Manager - Logistics to lead our logistics operations in Chennai, Gujarat. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in managing logistics and supply chain functions. As a Manager - Logistics, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire logistics process, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management. You will lead a team of logistics professionals to ensure seamless execution of logistics operations, meeting customer requirements, and driving business growth. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and leadership abilities. The work model is In Office, and the selected candidate will be based in Chennai, Gujarat. Responsibilities

1. To understand the site masterplan and external constraints impacting site logistics
2. Identify and mitigate the logistic challenges prevailing (and expected in the future) in the project site
3. Work closely with Planning, Section Heads / Site In-charges / Batching Plant / Stores and understand the daily and weekly material movement requirements
4. Plan lay down area as per the project requirements / utilize the lay down area in an optimal manner
5. Draw overall logistics plan and dynamically adjust the same according to site conditions from time to time
6. Plan and organize material movement within the constraints of project site and external environment
7. Direct subcontractor’s material movements
8. Imbibe pedestrian, material handling and vehicle safety as a part of logistics plan
9. Lead and manage a team of logistics professionals to ensure seamless execution of logistics operations
10. Oversee the entire logistics process, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management
11. Develop and implement logistics strategies to meet customer requirements and drive business growth
12. Analyze and resolve logistics-related issues to minimize costs and improve efficiency
13. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
14. Manage and optimize logistics budgets to achieve cost savings
15. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve logistics operations and customer satisfaction
16. Develop and maintain relationships with logistics service providers and vendors
17. Implement and maintain logistics metrics and performance management systems

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in managing logistics and supply chain functions
• Proven track record of improving logistics efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing customer satisfaction
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with external partners
• Ability to oversee entire logistics process, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Civil or Equivalent)
• Diploma (Civil or Equivalent)

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

• 10 to 15 years of work experience in site execution of mega projects – airports, large public buildings etc.,
• Familiarity in Autocad preferred
