About Pocket FM

At our core, we are an AI-powered entertainment company with a human-first philosophy: technology should amplify creativity, not replace it. Our proprietary AI works with writers, voice artists, and creative teams to help stories scale faster, smarter, and with cultural and emotional integrity.

We move with a startup mindset, curious, fast, and deeply owner-driven even as we operate at massive scale.

About the role

As a Lead Product Manager on the Discovery & Experience team, you will own one or more product pillars across Recommendations, Search, Personalization, and UX. This is not an execution-only role. You'll define the problem space, build the roadmap, and drive outcomes with a high degree of autonomy.

You will be the connective tissue between data science, engineering, design, and content, translating user behavior and business goals into crisp, high-impact product decisions.

What you'll own

Recommendations & Personalization

  • Own the product roadmap for one or more surfaces: home feed, end-of-episode, notifications, or similar
  • Define user cohorts and behavioral signals that power contextual, personalized content discovery
  • Work with data scientists to specify features, design experiments, and evaluate model performance in product terms
  • Track and optimize for listen-through rate, session depth, and content diversity metrics
  • Drive the cold-start strategy on how new users get value before behavioral history accumulates

Search

  • Own the search product end-to-end: query understanding, ranking, results UX, and zero-result recovery
  • Define and track search-specific metrics: search-to-play conversion, abandonment rate, query reformulation
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate semantic and intent-based search capabilities
  • Run structured experiments to improve relevance and discoverability across the content catalog

User Experience & Retention

  • Map and improve the user journey across key moments: onboarding, first listen, re-engagement, and churn prevention
  • Identify friction using session analytics, funnel analysis, and qualitative user research
  • Run continuous A/B experiments on UX hypotheses; build a habit of fast learning and disciplined rollout

Who we're looking for

  • 6-9 years in product management, Deep experience in consumer B2C products at scale, audio, video, gaming, social, or content platforms strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of owning and shipping ML-driven personalization or recommendation. Comfortable with ML concepts: collaborative filtering, ranking models, embeddings, bandits, LLM applications in product
  • Familiarity with A/B experimentation at scale, you design experiments, read results critically, and build on them
  • Can go deep with data scientists on feature engineering and model evaluation, not just a consumer of output
  • Experience with experimentation infrastructure: holdouts, CUPED, long-run tracking, novelty effects
  • Strong first-principles thinker, you question defaults, pressure-test assumptions, and build from user truth
  • High user empathy; you listen deeply, synthesize across qualitative and quantitative signals, and stay close to real behavior
  • A taste for simplicity in UX: you know that the best product decisions often feel obvious in hindsight
