Job Description

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly seasoned and strategic Workday Integration Lead

to serve as a technical lead within our Human Resources Technology team. This role

is pivotal in ensuring the reliable, secure, and high-performance integration of our

core HR applications (e.g., HCM, Payroll, Talent Management) across our entire

enterprise ecosystem including emerging AI/ML platforms.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and

maintaining robust and scalable integrations between various enterprise applications

(both cloud-based and on-premise). This role requires deep understanding of

architectural insight, expert hands-on development skills, and a proven history of

successfully delivering complex, mission-critical integration projects spanning

multiple years.

Key Responsibilities

o Lead the development and maintenance of the enterprise-wide integration architecture specifically for the HR applications portfolio. This includes setting standards for API design, data governance, security, and scalability.

o Serve as the lead developer on high-priority integration projects, building robust and scalable solutions using advanced features of our chosen integration platform (e.g., custom policies, complex transformations, error handling frameworks).

o Lead the design, governance, and documentation of complex, end-to-end integration architecture for critical HR systems, ensuring alignment with overall enterprise architectural standards and HR business strategy.

o Design and implement the necessary APIs to enable HR applications (e.g., the HCM system) to securely consume outputs from AI/ML services (e.g., predictive scores, sentiment analysis) to drive automated business processes and insights.

o Drive the selection, evaluation, and implementation of new integration technologies, platforms (iPaaS/EAI), and best practices tailored to the HR data domain.

o Establish and enforce standards for API management, security, monitoring, and performance across all HR integrations.

o Architect and implement high-performance, secure data pipelines to facilitate the accurate and timely exchange of HR data (e.g., performance metrics, recruitment data) for internal or third-party AI/ML models. This includes data required for predictive analytics, workforce planning, talent insights and Generative AI applications.

o Design and implement sophisticated ETL/ELT processes for high-volume HR data synchronization and migration between cloud (SaaS)and on-premise applications.

o Oversee the complete DevOps lifecycle for integrations, including CI/CD pipeline definition, automated testing, and deployment strategies.

o Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing deep technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and cross-functional teams (HR, IT, Security).

o Lead code reviews and ensure all solutions adhere to established architectural patterns, security policies, and performance benchmarks.

o Act as the highest escalation point for complex, production-critical integration incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term preventative measures.

o Continuously monitor and optimize existing integration flows to improve throughput, reduce latency, and ensure maximum uptime for HR service delivery.

o Ensure all AI data exchange adheres to strict data governance, privacy (PII), and ethical guidelines.

o Understanding of API strategies for consuming Generative AI (GenAI) or other ML service endpoints.

o Develop and manage APIs for consumption of AI services (e.g., natural language processing outputs from employee feedback tools, predictive turnover scores) back into core HR systems (HCM, LMS) to trigger business processes or display results.

 Experience: 3 to 8 years of progressive experience in application

integration, software development, or architecture, with at least 5 years

dedicated to HR Technology (HRIS/HCM) integration.

 Integration Expertise:

o Expert-level proficiency and architectural certification with a

leading enterprise integration platform (e.g., MuleSoft, Dell Boomi,

Azure Integration Services, or AWS Integration Services).

o Deep, proven experience integrating major HCM platforms (e.g.,

Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM Cloud) using their

proprietary integration tools and API frameworks.

o Mastery of RESTful and SOAP API design, security protocols

($Oauth2$, $JWT$), and performance testing/tuning.

o Proven experience architecting and building data integration

solutions designed to feed data warehouses, data lakes, or

analytical/machine learning pipelines.

o Understanding of the data formats, volume constraints, and latency

requirements for AI/ML model training and inferencing.

o Familiarity with secure methods for consuming GenAI model

endpoints via APIs.

Must-Have Skills

To be considered for this crucial leadership role, candidates must demonstrate

unwavering expertise in the following areas:

1. HCM Integration Mastery (3+ Years): Demonstrated deep, hands-on

experience (architecting and developing) integrating a major Tier 1 Human

Capital Management (HCM) system- Workday.

2. iPaaS/EAI Expert Certification: Proven Expert-level certification and

practical mastery of a leading integration platform (e.g., MuleSoft Certified

Architect/Developer, Dell Boomi Professional Developer).

3. API Strategy and Security: Complete mastery of RESTful API design

principles, API Gateway management, and implementing advanced security

protocols ($OAuth2$, $SAML$, $JWT$) for PII protection.
